About us
A union built by and for Romanian workers in the UK
Mission
The Union of Romanians in Great Britain is an independent trade union, set up to protect, promote and advance the employment rights, pay and working conditions of its members, with particular attention to the needs of Romanian-speaking workers.
Who can become a member
The union is open to any worker, employee or self-employed person working in the United Kingdom, regardless of nationality, ethnic or national origin, or any other protected characteristic.
How we work
The union is led by an Executive Committee elected by and from its members. Key decisions are made at General Meetings, where every member has the right to attend, vote and stand for office. The union manages its own finances, entirely separate from any other organisation.
Who we are
The union began with a group of people who saw the need for an organised voice for Romanian workers in the United Kingdom. Led by Mr Adrian Defta, they started a project that will restore the dignity of being Romanian in the United Kingdom. Together we are a force, and we are no longer at the mercy of the wind!
Mr Adrian Defta has extensive experience both as an entrepreneur and in the corporate world. But most importantly, for the past 4 years he has been one of the most visible opinion leaders on social media. His educational videos about life in the United Kingdom reach millions of views. He now stands in service of every member of the community.
